Family of 9 displaced after Shallowater house fire

Posted: Updated:

Shallowater fire crews responded to a house fire in the 700 block of 16th Street.

The call came just after 11 a.m.

The family says a child, who was home sick, was the only one home at the time. He wasn't injured.

The fire reportedly started on the couch and spread to the rest of the house. The father of the child was at work and the other children were at school.

We have a reporter at the scene and will update this story as soon as we get more information.
